K2 Expedition & Trekking was born in Askole — the last village before the mighty Karakoram. We believe that the same mountains that attract adventurers from around the world should also uplift the people who call them home. A portion of every booking goes directly into community projects that address real needs — clean water, sustainable agriculture, education, and energy.

These projects are currently in the planning and fundraising stage. Your adventures help make them a reality.
Water Purification Plant
Clean drinking water for every family in Askole. This project will install a community-scale water purification system to provide safe, reliable drinking water — replacing unsafe glacial runoff that causes waterborne illness.
Irrigation Water Motor
Powering agriculture in the high mountains. A solar-assisted water motor system to irrigate farmland in Askole, helping families grow crops sustainably in one of the most remote villages on Earth.
Community Education Centre
A dedicated space for education and skill development. From guide training and first-aid certification to English language classes — empowering the next generation of mountain professionals.
Solar Energy Initiative
Bringing reliable, clean energy to Askole households and community buildings. Solar panels and battery systems to reduce dependence on diesel generators and improve quality of life.
