Our trip packages typically include:

  • Porters to carry group equipment and personal items (up to a specified limit)

2. What kind of physical fitness is required for the trek?

The level of fitness required depends on the type and difficulty of the trek. For high-altitude treks like K2 Base Camp or Gondogoro La Trek, we recommend having a good level of cardiovascular fitness and stamina. Prior experience in trekking and familiarity with multi-day hikes will be beneficial. For more challenging expeditions, a high degree of fitness and technical climbing skills are essential.


3. What is the best time to trek in the Karakoram region?

The best time for trekking in the Karakoram region is from mid-June to mid-September. During this period, the weather is generally stable, and the trails are accessible. For expeditions to peaks like K2 or Broad Peak, summer months are preferred due to favorable conditions.


4. How can I book a trip with K2 Expedition & Trekking?

5. What kind of gear and equipment do I need?

A detailed packing list will be provided for each trek or expedition, depending on the difficulty level. Generally, you will need:

  • Warm clothing layers
  • Waterproof jacket and trousers
  • Comfortable trekking boots
  • Sleeping bag (for camping treks)
  • Trekking poles and headlamp
  • Daypack and duffel bag For high-altitude expeditions, you will require technical equipment such as crampons, ice axes, harnesses, and climbing boots. Rental options are available upon request.

6. Is travel insurance necessary?

Yes, comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all our treks and expeditions. The insurance should cover emergency medical evacuation, trip cancellations, and high-altitude trekking. Please provide a copy of your insurance details before the start of the trip.


7. What happens if I need to cancel my trip?

Please refer to our Cancellation and Refund Policy for detailed information. The refund amount depends on the cancellation notice period:

  • 60 days or more before the trip: 90% refund.
  • 30-59 days before the trip: 50% refund.
  • 15-29 days before the trip: 25% refund.
  • 14 days or less before the trip: No refund.

8. What kind of food is provided during the trek?

We provide nutritious meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, prepared fresh by our trekking staff. Special dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free) can be accommodated with prior notice.


9. What if I get sick or injured during the trek?

Your safety is our top priority. Our guides are trained in first aid, and we carry basic first aid kits on all treks. For serious medical emergencies, we will arrange for evacuation to the nearest medical facility. This is why comprehensive travel insurance with emergency evacuation coverage is mandatory.


10. Do I need special permits for trekking in the Karakoram region?

Yes, special permits are required for trekking in restricted areas such as the K2 Base Camp or Concordia. We will handle all permit arrangements as part of the trip package. Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay.


11. What is the group size for each trek?

We keep our group sizes small to ensure personalized attention and a better experience. Typically, our group size ranges from 4 to 12 participants. Smaller groups allow for greater flexibility and interaction with guides and fellow trekkers.
